It was the most anticipated Europa League finale - an all Portuguese showdown between Porto and Braga. A total of eight yellow cards were shown to players from both sides, a statistic which shows how feisty an encounter it was. Even the percentage of ball possession showed that it was one hell of a tight match, with Porto having 56% percent of the possession, just a mere 6% more than a 50-50.
But in the end it was Porto who earned the penultimate right to bring the Europa League trophy back to Portugal - Falcao dubbed the hero who wounded Braga. Nevertheless, neither you nor I will be seeing the players of Braga going back home with their heads held down. They were just as good as their adversaries and will return as heroes of Portugal for making it to the Final.
